HOSTING AND HOSPITALITY

For visitors: There is no more hosted housing available at this moment.

What is Hosting?

Hosting and being hosted is a honored tradition in lindy events. It's part of the hospitality and exchange spirit of the event to offer a bed (or mattress or airbed or sofa) to a visitor and when you visit their city, they'll return the favor! Hosting is a great way to meet people in the international swing family. It's good for you, and it's good for the event!

Why Host?

Tips for Hosts and Guests

  • Hosts and guests should contact each other to introduce yourself before the HK Swing Festival, and exchange contact phone numbers and other contact points, arrival/ departure schedules, directions, etc.
  • All hosts need to offer is a place to sleep, somewhere to wash and tips to get around. Hosts aren't expected to host their guests for longer than HK Swing Festival itself, though if they wish to do so, it's best to discuss this in advance.
  • Guests should clean up after themselves, respect their hosts' privacy, and it's nice to give your host a small gift or buy them a couple of drinks as a 'Thank You!'
Housing is limited and availability is not guaranteed - we'll let everyone know their housing assignments in late December. If you don't want to take the risk, you should consider a hotel or hostel. There are plenty of accommodations to suit a range of budgets in Hong Kong!
