FOUR Big Bands. Performances by SHOW-STOPPING Lindy Hoppers!
On Friday night (starts 7.30pm), the Big Band Show will feature FOUR Big Bands from Hong Kong performing swing music the way it's meant to be! When we say "Big Bands", we don't just mean large bands (with up to 17 instruments and vocals), we're also referring to traditional swing bands, immortalised by the great Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Glenn Miller and Benny Goodman. The Big Bands performing are the Saturday Night Jazz Orchestra, Basic Notes Jazz Orchestra, Stray Katz Big Band, and Lando Bernal's Big Broad Band.
In the true spirit and tradition of swing music and dance, this year we have gathered some of the most talented and show-stopping dancers in the lindy hop world to perform with the live bands!
The dancers performing at the Big Band Show will be: Max Pitruzzella and Annie Trudeau (France/ Canada), Peter Vawter and Jandi Kim (Japan/ Korea), Sing Lim and Brian Ang (Singapore), Gianni Aprea and Grace Leung (Hong Kong).
The Big Band Show is presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department and in association with HK Fringe Club.
