Class Levels
Beginner
You are new to Lindy Hop. You may have just started your first series of classes, taken a few drop in classes, or are brand spanking new. Perhaps you have only danced 6-Count Swing. Or maybe you have taken Lindy Hop classes years ago but it just didn't click and you gave up early on. Or, maybe you are a lead/follow that wants to learn how to reverse roles. If you want to fine-tune your fundamentals and really get a solid base, then this track would be perfect! These are the classes for you to get a quick start on the road to Lindy Hop! You will have a small class size along with a coach that guides you through the classes to make sure everybody gets the most out of HKSF.
Intermediate
You have been taking Lindy Hop specific classes and regularly social dancing for around 6-8 months or more. You are solid in all the 6 and 8 count basics: the swingout, passes, turns, texas tommy, basic tandem or side-by-side charleston, etc. Social dancing comes more naturally to you now and you are building confidence on the floor. You are executing moves and patterns, but your repertoire is getting old. You are ready to bring your Lindy Hop to the next level!
Advanced
You have been dancing Lindy Hop for 2 years or more and can dance to a wide variety of tempos - fast and slow and everything in between. You are one of the better dancers on the social floor. You are ready for technical aspects like musicality, connection, phrasing, styling, footwork and you can learn at a fast pace.
Open
We will have a number of Open level classes during the weekend. We have hand-picked the topics to be sometimes unusual and always interesting! These are open to all levels unless otherwise indicated.

Can I change class level during the weekend?
Yes, but please be honest to yourself to choose classes that suit your experience. There is no point in making yourself and others frustrated by joining a class beyond your level. If you change up and find yourself frustrated, that is a good sign you should change back down.
